Memories
of Jutland
BOY First Class Frederick
Charles Morris, now 92,
was serving in the battle-
ship HMS Marlborough on
31 May 1916 when she was
struck by a torpedo.
"Our gunlayer said: "Get
your Number One suits
ready" - meaning since
the ship was damaged
we'd all get leave while
she was being repaired.
"And that's what hap-
pended - we wound up in a
floating dock in Jarrow."
See page 16 - "Clash of
the Titans".
