THORNTON LAD ON THE DEFENCE.
An official intimation has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Hill, of 2, South Square, Thornton, that their son, Dewhirst Hill, of H.M.S. Defence, lost his life in the recent Naval battle. He was twenty-three years of age, and had been three and a-half years in the Navy. He was home on leave about a month ago.
