Seaman HERBERT HALL, (Lost with H.M.S. Queen Mary)
Among the gallant sailors who went down with the "Queen Mary" in the great naval battle of May 31-June 1 was Herbert Hall, son of Mr David Hall, of 5 Lucy St., Edgeley, Stockport. He enlisted on July 26, 1908, prior to which he was an apprenticemechanic at Beaumont's Works, Brinksway. He had been a member of the crew of the "Queen Mary" since she was commissioned. He was 22 years of age, and had an elder brother, who is at present serving at the front with the Lancaster Artillery.
