A.B. G. A. FOAM, R.N Also among the missing is Able-Seaman Albert Foam. of the Black Prince, son of Pte. G. A. Foam R.M. (formerly musician at the Depot). Foam, who was 20 years of age, was educated at the Depot School und was also a member of the Depot Cadet Corps. After leaving school he employed by Mr. J. G. Woodruff, High-street, Deal and also at Walmer Brewery. He was a very active member of the Sea Scouts. and received a Certificate , signed by Baden Powell and presented on June. 4th 1915 as a " Diploma for services rendered on the occasion of the loss of H.M.S. Niger in 1914". He joined the Navy about 18 months ago, trained at Chatham and had been in Black Prince about 12 months. Mr. Foam's eldest son, George Lewis, who is serving in France, is in hospital.
