Curd, Percy John

Curd, Percy John
Narrative Source Photograph
Daily Record 13 June 1916.

Formerly listed as P J Churd, he had 2 Navy records
for the same service number 4/3240, but one has him
listed as PJ Curd & the other as PJ Churd.
However, in the latter the ‘h’ in Churd is circled to indicate a typo.
His marriage record backs this up and lists him as PJ Curd.
His wife's maiden name was Bogg.
He was also an AB not a Leading Seaman at the time -
a rating he had lost for being AWOL. Notwithstanding this,
he was promoted soon after to Assistant Paymaster,
and was later Commissioned in the RAF.
