Through Ancestry.com, I found a Family Tree that linked into a portion
of my ancestors. There was this wonderful photo of 14 men who were part
of the crew for HMS Black Prince with this Tree.
The photo has a small "blue pen X" above one of the men - (3rd from the
right in the back row). He was, Armourer, Arthur William Ambler
RN#350887 born June 16, 1879 at Birmingham, England. He was killed on
board HMS Black Prince during the Battle of Jutland (evening of May
31/June 1, 1916).
His daughter, Madeline Cissie Ambler (born Mar. 8, 1906) married a
brother of my Grandfather in 1930.
So I am not directly related to him but I am someone who believes
strongly in remembering the sacrifice made by Canadian and British men
and women in the 1st and 2nd World Wars.
I spoke with the gentleman who has this Ancestry Tree and he indicates
there is no identification of the other 13 in the photo. Perhaps someone
will recognize their ancestor in this photo.
