The official list of those killed in H.M.S. Warrior
in the naval fight commenced with a Bathonian -
Engine-room Artificer John Napier Abbott. De-
ceased was a son of the late Mr. John Abbott, of
Wal? Parade, and a nephew of Mrs. J.T. Hooe
of 11, Grosvendor Place. He was apprenticed at
the works of Messrs. Stothert and Pitt, and joined
the Navy about five years ago. Deceased was ??
years of age, and was doing well in the Navy. His
brother, Mr. Charles Abbott, well known in Bath
cricketing circles, is now in the trenches with the
North Somerset Yeomany.
