WILLIAM GEORGE COLQUHOUN

NEW FOREST HERO OF HORNS REEF FIGHT.
Engineer-Commander Colquhoun, R.N., whose kinfolk live in Cadnam, and who was killed in action in the battle of Horns Reef while serving on H.M.S. Tipperary. Engineer Colquhoun, who was the only son of the late Admiral Colquhoun, of Southsea, had a distinguished career in the Navy. He was once shipwrecked, but was saved after suffering great privation, and he has taken part in nearly all naval fighting of the present war. He served in Admiral Beatty's squadron in the battle of the Bight; took part in the fight off Belgium, and was in the attack on Cuxhaven on Christmas Day, 1914, and in the fight in the North Sea a month later. The vessel on which he was serving in March of last year had the distinction of sinking a German submarine.
